Podcast of the Week:
Acts of Kindness: How Small Actions Can Change Someone’s Life, RichNation WBPT Podcast with Robin Sharma
This week’s podcast is from RichNation and is called Acts of Kindness: How Small Actions Can Change Someone’s Life with Robin Sharma. You ask, why did we choose it? We love how they say leadership happens even without a fancy title. When you influence others, you’re a leader. And small acts of kindness certainly influence others! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did!
Article of the Week:
Business News Daily: “Are You a True Leader or Just a Boss?”
by Skye Schooley
Let’s face it — we all think we are leaders. Yet, when we get busy and the world moves at lightning speed, we sometimes find ourselves falling back into ‘just being a boss.’ This article is a great reminder for all of us to focus on what’s important and pay attention when we start to do things like ‘discipline’ instead of ‘mentor’ or ‘delegate tasks’ instead of delegating authority. It’s a great article!
Book of the Week:
“Sex, Lies, and Handwriting” by Michelle Dresbold with James Kwahwasser
I read this book many years ago, and shortly after, I found myself questioning the character of someone we were considering hiring. Not wanting the book’s insights to unduly influence a hiring decision, I ignored my instinct. Sure enough… the person was terminated within a year for embezzlement. Yes, that actually happened! So when I saw the book on my shelf this week, I decided to share it with you. It’s a GREAT BOOK.

How to Prepare for Your Employee Review
It’s that time of year again! So, this week, I pulled out an old but highly relevant video on year-end reviews. In this video, I talk about three buckets that both the reviewer and the reviewee should think about before sitting down for that review. It’s a short, 2:18-second video that is well worth your time.
